Salima Koroma is an Executive Producer, journalist, and Emmy-Winning Documentary Filmmaker.

In 2016, her directorial debut, Bad Rap, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and won Best Documentary Feature at both the San Diego Asian Film Festival and the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival.

Her sophomore film, the Emmy award-winning Dreamland: The Burning of Black Wall Street, premiered on the 100th anniversary of the destruction of a black neighborhood in Tulsa.

She later released the film Sh*tshow: The Rise and Fall of HQ Trivia with HBO and CNN Films and in 2025 she released the film Dear Ms.: A Revolution in Print for HBO with directors Alice Gu and Cecilia Aldarondo.

She’s currently heading up her production company, Videotape.

Salima is a former hip hop essayist for Complex and Hip Hop DX, and an award-winning documentary journalist at Time Magazine, The Atlantic, and Great Big Story.
